The new iPad or the 3rd generation iPad is finally launched. The question plenty of people ask concerning the iPad 3 is: what is different from the old one? The iPad 3 isn’t revolutionary, and according to Apple it is “Resolutionary”. So the answer is quite easy — there is a Retina Display which makes everything appears wonderfully crisp, an updated A5X processor providing quad-core graphics and a 5-megapixel iSight camera on the rear with a VGA sensor on the front.
At launch, the iPad 3 includes iOS 5.1. Recently added features like Notifications, Newsstand, iMessage and Twitter integration are all provided, and also support for Apple’s free iCloud online backup service.
With a number of improvements — quicker graphics, 4G wireless options, a better camera, and a stunning high-resolution screen — the iPad 3 sticks its position at the head of the tablet PC.

iPad 3 – It’s Brilliant. In Every Sense of the Word.
Grab the new iPad 3 and suddenly, it’s clear. You are really touching your pictures, reading a book, playing the piano. Nothing comes between you and what you love. To create that hands-on experience even better, Apple developed the essential elements of iPad better — the camera, the display, the wireless connection. All of that makes the new, 3rd generation iPad capable of so much more than you ever dreamed.
New iPad Retina Display. See Everything Like Never Before.
Razor-sharp text. Richer colors. 4 times more pixels than iPad 2. The Retina display changes the whole iPad experience. So everything appears and feels amazingly lifelike and flawlessly detailed.
Breakthrough technology. For a breakthrough display.
In order to produce a display with 4 times the pixels, Apple had to design it in an entirely new way. You see, every pixel in a display has multiple signals telling it when to light up. But when you have lots of pixels and lots of signals on the same plane, signals get crossed and image quality suffers. To ensure everything on the new iPad 3 looks crystal clear, Apple engineers elevated the pixels onto a different plane — separating them from the signals. It’s technology that is breakthrough. Just like the new iPad itself.
The best display ever on a mobile device.
Everything you do with iPad 3, you do via its large, stunning display. So when the display is better, the whole iPad experience is better. The Retina display on the new iPad 3 boasts a 2048-by-1536 resolution, 44% greater color saturation, and a fantastic 3.1 million pixels — in the same 9.7″ space. That is 4 times the number of pixels in iPad 2 and also a million more than an HDTV. Those pixels are so close together, your eyes aren’t able to notice individual ones at a normal viewing distance. When you are unable to see the pixels, you see the entire picture. Or article. Or game. In ways you never could before.
The iSight Camera. Your Memories Have Never Been Clearer.
The iPad 3 sports Apple’s 5MP iSight camera. Made from advanced optics, it allows you to capture stunning pictures as well as 1080p HD video
The 5 MP iSight camera is equipped with a backside illumination sensor which captures great-looking photos whether by sunlight or candlelight. Autofocus, tap to focus, and tap to set exposure functions mean every image you take instantly becomes a frameworthy gem. And with built-in face detection which immediately balances focus and exposure across up to ten faces, there is more room for more grins. So everyone look at iPad and say “Cheese.”.
It’s all in the lenses.
Megapixels matter. But the quality of a photo is determined by other things, too — like the camera’s optics, image signal processor, plus software. The iSight camera utilizes sophisticated optics to provide you the best picture possible. With an ƒ/2.4 aperture and a 5 element lens, it captures light efficiently to deliver a sharper overall image. And the hybrid infrared filter — typically reserved for expensive DSLR cameras — keeps out harmful IR light for more accurate, uniform colors.
HD Video Recording
Sometimes life takes you by surprise. You are reading a best seller on your iPad waiting for the morning train when you spy a talented performer on the platform. Or you are browsing the web on the sofa when your dog trots by wearing your daughter’s tutu. The iSight camera on the new iPad enables you to shoot all these unpredictable, wonderful, and priceless moments. In 1080p HD, no less. And with automatic video stabilization, your recording is free of bumps and shakes. That is a big advantage when you are laughing uncontrollably.

The A5X chip with quad-core graphics pushes 4 times the pixels of iPad 2 however it offers the same smoothness plus fluidity iPad is known for. Even with all that extra oomph, the new iPad 3 still gets an incredible ten hours of battery life.
Instant on. Touch and go.
You utilize your iPad 3 all the time. A few minutes here, an hour or so there. And each time you press the Home button or open the Smart Cover, it is ready to go. Right away. That is the work of flash storage. It’s fast and reliable, so you can get to your apps and also do whatever you have to do, instantly.
More power on display.
The Retina display on the new iPad would not be possible without the new and powerful A5X chip. It drives power to every one of the 3.1 million pixels in the display. And its quad-core graphics processing makes everything you do on iPad feel remarkably responsive. From the small things like swiping, scrolling, and pinching to the huge things like applying titles and transitions in iMovie, editing photos in the new iPhoto, and, of course, playing games.
Battery life spared.
The new iPad comes with a Retina display with 4 times the pixels of iPad 2 and quad-core graphics. How much of an effect does that have on battery life? Almost none. You still get up to ten hours of power to play, watch, read, write, and create whatever you want, all you want.

So you’re able to browse the web, stream content, or download a movie at blazing-fast speeds. What Customers Have To Say About The New iPad
Too much fun, By Mike.
This is my 1st iPad and it’s AWESOME. I have a friend that just got a brand new iPad 2 and we compared the resolutions side by side, and the difference is slight, but noticeable. If you have the iPad 2, it is useless to get the iPad 3… just my opinion.
As far as the hot spot is concerned, yes it gets warm but nothing that’s annoying or inconvenient. People who complain are blowing it WAY out of proportion. All you have to to do is look at the tech specs to understand why it does so. There is a lot going on to power this thing in a little space and that’s why people purchased this thing in the first place! don’t let it discourage you. In addition, when you put on a case on it, you never notice it.
Great product, very functional and a lot of fun.
Best to date, By Gerardo Betancourt
I have own it for just one week but it is amazing. It’s just an entertainment tool for me but i love it. Battery life is above the average so is the recharging time. Video resolution is better than my $2k HD 3D LCD 55″ Samsung TV. I had an ipod touch before and videos that were amazing in the touch are no good in the ipad 3 but i guess I will have to change the resolution in the videos that i store and record from now on. Nevertheless, like always from Apple, a product 5 years ahead of time in technology years, which is twenty years in human years.
